Here we are, the journey has officially started!

I wanted to give everyone an Update on Parker.
I will post more later, we are all so exhausted.

Parker's surgery went Fantabulous!

Luckily we got discharged early! Thank the Lord! Parker is handling this "change" very well. A little better than I am. He is very swollen, and doesn't quite look like my child yet. But I have to say the swelling brought back those luscious cheeks.

Our surgeon told us when we got home to take off his bandages... uhhh kinda creepy. I thought Bobby was going to pass out on me. Parker took it for the team though and ripped them off before we could. So thoughtful right? Lol.

He seriously was such a good sport, never cried once. He is way better than I am cause I would be milking the attention! Also, right before we left the hospital they had to make sure he could walk... guess what he did?? He pranced and danced all over the nurses station. Ha!

(June 30th is the day he gets the implants activated! I will post some videos of him once I edit them.)

I really am excited that my little Grandson will start the journey towards hearing the world around him. What a blessing!

When Christ said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear", He was not referring to those two appendages dangling on either side of our head. He was talking about a different kind of listening, an awakened attentiveness that can only come from the heart, the spirit, the soul.

This connection, this speaking and listening "Spirit to Spirit" is something Parker has learned in the profound silence of his little life over the last two years. What a gift to bring into the realm of worldly hearing! How lucky you and Bobby are to have gone through this with him!

This spirituaal connection of the heart, will help you so much as Parker struggles to gain his new sense. Rely on your love for each other, love that has never needed words or ears in the past, and you will get through this next year with peace and fulfillment.

I love you all, Bobby, Brooke and Parker. (Graaannnpaaaw)

I'm so happy and relieved to hear that his surgery went well and that he's recovering. That's great that he's still dancing. I bet the activation part will be really exciting, but maybe a little scary. Hooray for a successful surgery!
