peanuts & cracker jacks.

Ahhhh.
Summer to me equals three things...
pools.
watermelon.
baseball games.

My brother Ryan was lucky enough to sing
the National Anthem at a AAA baseball game.

The hubs and I brought Parkie along because Ryan
just happens to be his favorite person in the world!

Their connection is UNBELIEVABLY, INDESCRIBABLE.
Before Parkie could "hear" he would sit and watch
Ryan sing to him, in awe.
And of course at home he demands to
watch his YouTube videos.

HaHa! Fourteen year olds think its amusing you can spell poop with your hands.
ok. sodoi. :)

forever.

One reason we came to visit family
was because we had a wedding...
The Hubs sisters wedding.
Megan and Andrew
were married
July 26th 2009.
They have two beautiful children together
Kayden (2 1/2) and Keira (9 mos)
We are so very excited for them and hope they will always feel like "newly weds".
While I was watching the ceremony it reminded me
of the vows we each make to ALL of our loved ones.
We promise to honor and commit.
We promise to show unconditional love.
We promise to respect and take leaps of faith.
Mmmm.
O. to. be. in. love. foreverrr.
Makes me feel all googley inside....

white rabbit.

I had the pleasure of attending
my youngest brothers play....
Alice in Wonderland
What?!?
I think they knew I was in town!
Can I just say it was
AUUHMAAAZING!
The set was fantabulous.
It looked like it was plucked from Disneyland.
My brother played no other than...
The White Rabbit.
He was too cute.
After the play I requested to take pictures with every character...
& you bet I did.
I was in awe...
even blushed a little.
;)
Alice
White Rabbit
The Queen of Hearts
Tweedle Dee
Tweedle Dum
The Mad Hatter.
What a night!!!!

March 5th 2010 is going to
be a Glorious day!
Oh how I adore my beloved Mad Hatter
I am officially weak in the knees.
Sigh.
Now my friends,

bff.

Have you ever met someone that makes
your heart sing and fills my life with purpose.
Well I have and her name is

She is my best friend.
The Pea in my Pod.
Today is her Birthday!

When we are together our husbands hate us.
constant laughing...
celebrity gossiping...
music video dancing...
reality TV watching...

we do it all...

God even blessed us with the same allergies.

Alicia is one of the most "real" people I know.
Her heart is even more real.
I love my lady.
My "secret lover"
(not like that sickos)

So. go. wish. her. a. Happy. Happy. Birthday.

lovely people.

We have some business to take care of!

So the Lovely Miss Ali over @ The Way I See It

Ten interesting things about myself...
1. I have the poem "The Jabberwocky" memorized.
2. I am going to get a nose job.
3. I can remember almost all of my cheer routines. (10 years worth)
4. Being as artistic as I am, I still can't manage to paint my own finger nails! ( Thanks Alicia!)
5. Every time I am in the shower I have to have music so I can dance!
6. In some weird creepy way I like getting shots.
7. In middle school my nickname was "Arnold" because I could bench more than the boys.
8. I am obsessed with people watching and eaves dropping at restaurants.
9. Sometimes I get my dreams and reality mixed up. ( Like really convincing myself that someone could just maybe leave a baby on my doorstep)
10. I am a talker. People who have yet to meet me in person... I warned you! I could talk and talk for hours. ( But I must say my stories, "brooke storie's" are auuhhmaaazzzing!)

I now pass this lovely award to:

The second one:

"This award is bestowed on to blogs that are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

I choose:
Everyone!

Ears.

It's about time I introduce you to....

Parkie's "New Ears"

My. Oh. My. is he adapting well.

Today he turned to his name for the first time.
My heart melted and splattered on the floor.

Mr. Parkie now enjoys the sounds of...
screaming children.
(he thinks its fascinating hearing someone cry)
Running water.
Cars honking.
Doors slamming.
Clapping.
Microwave beeping.
His laughter.
My songs.

So much more.

Isn't it crazy to think just a mere two weeks ago
my little man had no concept of sound.

nothing.
nada.
zip.
zilch.

He is progressing rapidly and hears new noises daily.
I am so happy all of you get to follow his journey!!
This is going to be an amazing ride!

Now check out his new flashy accessories.

k

Ok.
So the thing connected to his head is a magnet.
It sends the sound to the actual
implant inside his head.

Parkie hears the door shutting.

He heard his bike crashing on the cement.

Tantrums are a whole new experience!
He thinks they are hilarious!
Parker. they. are. not. funny.

Exploring for bugs is different too.

CCHAT.

CCHAT.

What is Cchat might you ask?
Children's Choice for Hearing and Talking.

Cchat Center is an Oral Deaf School here in Northern CA.
They teach deaf children to "learn" to listen and speak.

Mr. Parkie attends CChat 5 days a week.
It is an amazing program.
These children communicate...most better than I do!

Due to the fact CChat isn't a public school, it receives
minimal funding from the school districts, most is fundraised.

On Friday Parker will be participating in CChat's Bike-a-thon.

Each family has a goal of raising 200.00 for the school.

If you would like to make a pledge and donate please email me for more info.

Every dollar counts.

No Pressure, Really!

So many exciting things...

I have been creating lately.

Ahhh!

I feel like it has been so long since I have
been able to open up my mind.

Also on another happy note

Parkie started school.
He is learning to listen and develop sound and speech.
So amazing.

I will post another video soon.
(life after activation)

Here are a couple paintings I have been working on.

fire dances.

Oooooooo.
Awwwweeeee.

Our 4th celebration was fan-tacular!

We first headed to the pool for an afternoon swim.
Tanning lotion in hand, SPF 4.

Got my tan on!!

Poor Hubs tried to get some "color"
If red lobster is color he wanted...he got it!

After 3 hours of intense sun and splashing we headed back home
to give Mr. Parkie a nap and make some yummy food for dinner.

One pasta salad and Muddie Buddies later
we were off to Alicia's!

Woooo!

Let the Party begin!

Goodness the food.

So

much

food.

5,000 Calories later...

500 water balloons later....

Fireworks spectacular!

I can't even begin to describe the fireworks.
Lets just say more than a few weren't bought at the
firework stands on the corner...

oh. my. it. was. fun.

Luckily I only got burned once.

(Stupid sparkler)

I was so stoked about these pictures!!
All are unedited.

Um is it just me or does this picture spell out Jasmine??

This is my one handed cartwheel while holding a sparkler...
hmmm wonder how I got burned?
I'm an idiot

technical difficulties.

I am trying to get a video uploaded... it's not working.
The Hubs is going to look at it tonight.

Yesterday went fantablulous!

Parkie HEARS!

He was pretty comfertable until the audiologist turned it up a little too high.
Then he kept taking the implants off.
(They are magnitized so the just pop off)

I knew it was going to be hard for him.
What a transition.
Our world is SO noisy!

He has worn them all day today.
we have been going around the house discovering funny noises.

He is a big fan of banging pots and pans, and hammering.

Not a big fan of my voice...
hopefully that changes.

:)

Will update more soon.
